A New Year, a new direction

Firstly we would like to wish you all a very happy and
prosperous New Year and secondly we would like to
introduce you to Barry Bezuidenhout who will now be heading up our Cape Town office.
Barry is an experienced tvc and stills producer with an eye for detail and goes out of his way to make sure that things get done properly.
Being a new dad, a scuba diving instructor, climber, hunter, parrot wrangler, location finder and producer Barry has vast reserves of energy which we love.  If you ever need to shoot in South Africa, Barry is a pair of hands who we trust and know that you will too.

Charles Barker earns his Stripes

Spoke director Charles Barker, in partnership with post-production company Stripe Media, produced a TV commercial to inspire members of the public to join Team Macmillan and take part in a challenge to raise vital money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Barker used five top photographers stationed across the iconic 26-mile London Marathon course capturing in excess of 10,000 images in order to create a film featuring a 3D environment populated with Team Macmillan runners and cheerers.

Charles Barker says:
‘We set about crafting a piece to celebrate the stars of Team Macmillan – the runners – that was suitably innovative to do them justice, and make them feel a part of it. We wanted to create something visually striking – a film comprised entirely of stills taken at a live event, the London Marathon.

Elements of the film were incorporated into Macmillan's Facebook page which allowed Macmillan participants and their supporters to upload and comment on their own experiences during the event.

Great work Charles and a great cause!

Moose on the Loose

Internationally noted and multi award winning stop-motion and animation house Loose Moose have moved into our building.  Amid much clattering of hooves the moose have settled into their new environment and have not roamed far at all from their traditional habitat.

Spoke Films and Loose Moose  are pooling our resources to offer a wider choice of directing talent and a wealth of experience to our clients (live action, stop-motion, CGi, design).

Have a look at Being Bradford Dillman animated by rising star Daniella Orsini.  http://www.loosemoose.net

Seeing Red, well, 2 x Epic cameras actually.

Spoke's office in Dubai has taken delivery of two RED Epic cameras which have been put through the mill by our director Jac Mulder who just loves them!
Working with the Epic, ever enthusiastic Jac says:
"The camera has opened up so many more opportunities than I could have ever imagined"
 and
"Some days the camera was rolling at 5am and being turned off at 2am, these particular days were in freezing cold conditions, the camera was so solid..."
Jac has been shooting like a loon and is very keen to spread the word on how excellent these cameras are.  He recently had an article published in Reduser, if you would like to see the whole piece click here.

Spoke goes (Middle) East.

The recent launch of Spoke's office in Dubai has been a great success with scripts being quoted and our team busy shuttling between Dubai and our satellite office in Cape Town.
The Middle Eastern market is growing year on year and with our existing roster of talent including 'newbies' for M.E rep,
Jac Mulder, Omar Hilal, Devon Dickson and Richard Oliver, with our production experience and knowledge of the local market we can offer a clear and concise way of dealing in an environment that is different to the one we traditionally know.
